Liverpool and Manchester United benefit most from new AFCON rules

The problem has always been the AFCON’s influence on the European leagues. Up until the tournaments last edition, it was always held in the winter months which meant that eligible African players would have to miss anywhere between 3 to 6 fixtures for their European club teams in the crucial run in period. The Premier League has always felt this effect in full force.

With the news of the Canadian Premier League sparking Canadian interest in soccer from Victoria to St. John’s, it is worth taking a look at the Canadian clubs under US governing bodies and their histories, be it top division sides like Toronto FC and Vancouver Whitecaps or lesser known PDL sides such as Forest City London or Calgary Foothills FC.
