Coshcast: Brendan Rodgers to replace Arsene Wenger

A herd of actual caribou would have given Manchester City a tougher test in the Carabou Cup final, in the Premier League, Lingard and United’s resilience outdo Willian’s brilliance, and it’s a walk in the park against West Ham for Liverpool, although obviously not alone, because you’ll never do that.

Coshcast: EPL & World Cups with Tom Harrington

We’re joined by CBC’s Tom Harrington as we look back on the weekend’s Premier League action. Arsenal were wobbly at Wembley and got thrashed 1-0 as only Petr kept Spurs in check, it was the De Bruyne and Aguero show at the Etihad where City put five past a lackluster Leicester, and we’ll also chat about easy wins for Liverpool and Newcastle.

The key to Manchester City’s success is…

An energized, lean, mean-looking Manchester City outfit has come to the party this season. Undefeated so far, they have shattered records with an incredible 55 points in 19 games. That’s 58 points from a possible 60. Such form has never been seen before in the league and the credit has gone to Josep “Pep” Guardiola for proving to his doubters that he can indeed succeed in the Premier League.

The Second Half: Things to Expect in the EPL

Boxing day has arrived and the season’s second half has begun. The title race may be all but over, but the domestic cups are still to play for and the Europa and Champions League knockout stages have yet to commence. Just a few weekends ago we were delighted at the onset of another footballing season. Now, we find ourselves wondering how things will transpire as we prepare for another World Cup.

Manchester City: The heroes the Premier League deserve

Last season Pep Guardiola finally arrived at Manchester City. The club chased him for almost a decade as they looked to cement themselves as a true world footballing giant. The thought was that Pep would come in and take the team to new heights. City had already won the league and multiple cups. Now City wanted to play with panache and contend with the big boys, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus and Bayern Munich.

Where does Griezmann go from here?

With Diego Costa’s imminent return to the Atletico side, it will be absolutely fascinating to see how the pair combine in a partnership that looks, on paper like it should work brilliantly. Costa the aggressive, sociopath bully ready to drive defenders bonkers, Griezmann the impish magician, darting around him into the spaces the opposition barely registered.

Coshcast: North London Derby & the Derby della Capitale

In the North London derby it was Mustafi and Alexis,
Chelsea make West Brom pay and it’ll be the last time Pulis collects his,
Pogba comes back and immediately connects with
Lukaku meanwhile De Bruyne is so good on his left, it’s almost as good as Salah who scored two and clicked ‘next’ while Moyes can’t save West Ham – who amongst us would have guessed?

Coshcast: Mané gives and gets the boot, Messi shoots, shoots, shoots.

In the Premier League City smash Liverpool as the curse of Oxlade Chamberlain continues and Sadio Mane creates a profile on Faceboot so that he can send his thoughts and prayers to Ederson. Elsewhere, Arsenal take a bite of the sour cherries, Mourinho is the only person in the world pining for Fellaini and for Swansea, we Renato ways to say that Sanches had a bad game.

Transfers: Chelsea and Liverpool running out of time

The recent talk about the restructuring of the summer transfer window period in the Premier League is refreshing. Managers seem to want to know their squads before the season starts, and players would also like to be settled down at their clubs.

As it stands, the transfer window still runs until the end of August, and clubs like Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Man United, and Tottenham are running out of time to finalize their squads for the season which has already started.

Coshcast: Chelsea see red, Giroud uses head, Lukaku leaves West Ham for dead

The Premier League unzips and swings itself around – we admire Giroud as Arsenal pull themselves out of a quagmire that started with McGuire and at Vicarage Road it was Firmino’s wiry frame that caused Marco Silva to perspire. Special guest Feroze Ali talks to us about Chelsea who possibly had too much fire and conspired to lose at home to Burnley, Crystal Palace wonder whether they made the right hire and Manchester United set West Ham atop a pire and burn them to ground.

Coshcast: Gold Cup, Transfers & Neymar

This week on the Coshcast we look back at Canada’s run in the Gold Cup as they pass the Hondurance test but ultimately suffer from Larin’s itis, round up any latest transfer madness by which I mean primarily make fun of West Ham, and course where would we be without Mumu of the Week? We’d be up a tree without a Mumu, of course.

Manchester United: Is Nemanja Matic the answer?

For a while, United seemed to be focusing on replacing the injured Zlatan Ibrahimovic with one (or maybe two) of Alvaro Morata, Andrea Belotti or Romelu Lukaku. So far, United haven’t been able to push a striker through the door. As a result, Mourinho is now focusing on central midfield. If reports are to be believed Jose will be reunited with his former Chelsea charge Nemanja Matic. Let’s dive right in and analyze this potential transfer.

Manchester United: The Macheda Moment

It was a frantic finish to the 08/09 season and I was approaching the end of my first year of university. Back home for the weekend, with finals around the corner, the United game was on. It was (and still is) a standard ritual to watch the United game while planning the rest of the day around it, and so everything else was naturally cast aside.

MUFC 2016/17 Season Review: Don’t dare call it a Treble…

While I admire the Mourinho mentality that says, “if we’re in a competition, we’ll try to win it”, I don’t think any United fan will look back on 2016/17 as another treble season. With all apologies to Liverpool and what some dubbed the ‘Mickey Mouse treble’, this campaign is just barely a double. I mean, the Community Shield isn’t a major trophy, is it?
