Mourinho v Fergie at United Pt 1: Big Games

Manchester City are dominating the Premier League this season but since the turn of the new year, many football fans have been talking about is Jose Mourinho. Firstly the ‘Special One’ stole the limelight from City by pipping them to their main transfer target Alexis Sanchez. Next, Jose […]

The key to Manchester City’s success is…

An energized, lean, mean-looking Manchester City outfit has come to the party this season. Undefeated so far, they have shattered records with an incredible 55 points in 19 games. That’s 58 points from a possible 60. Such form has never been seen before in the league and the credit has gone to Josep “Pep” Guardiola for proving to his doubters that he can indeed succeed in the Premier League.

Manchester City: The heroes the Premier League deserve

Last season Pep Guardiola finally arrived at Manchester City. The club chased him for almost a decade as they looked to cement themselves as a true world footballing giant. The thought was that Pep would come in and take the team to new heights. City had already won the league and multiple cups. Now City wanted to play with panache and contend with the big boys, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus and Bayern Munich.

Manchester United: Is Nemanja Matic the answer?

For a while, United seemed to be focusing on replacing the injured Zlatan Ibrahimovic with one (or maybe two) of Alvaro Morata, Andrea Belotti or Romelu Lukaku. So far, United haven’t been able to push a striker through the door. As a result, Mourinho is now focusing on central midfield. If reports are to be believed Jose will be reunited with his former Chelsea charge Nemanja Matic. Let’s dive right in and analyze this potential transfer.

MUFC 2016/17 Season Review: Don’t dare call it a Treble…

While I admire the Mourinho mentality that says, “if we’re in a competition, we’ll try to win it”, I don’t think any United fan will look back on 2016/17 as another treble season. With all apologies to Liverpool and what some dubbed the ‘Mickey Mouse treble’, this campaign is just barely a double. I mean, the Community Shield isn’t a major trophy, is it?

Plenty of sugar without Kane

Louis van Gaal wanted “virtual reality” training for United last season. Rooney was one step ahead for once, he has been living in a virtual reality for about 18 months, one where he is still a good player. Still, it was Rooney who was once again summoned from the bench to miskick the ball to a United player and claim it as an assist. Jose has it sussed now, give him ten minutes here and there and the damage should be minimal.

TFTTF: Mourinho’s career begins to crumble

It is saying something when United fans are starting to reminisce misty eyed over the glory day of David Moyes. I mean, even Van Gaal didn’t manage to spend this much money and lose three games in a week. Not that it is all Mourinho’s fault, of course. The referees are to blame, as is Watford’s “luck” in making Rooney, Fellaini and Zlatan look somewhat average.

All Hail the Klopp!

Based on the reaction among fans on Twitter, it is quite humorous to find people judging Klopp of his first few weeks, when in reality it has been the players’ performance and individual errors that have lead to the frustration with losing leads, missing crucial goal-scoring opportunities and defensive errors.

Chelsea: Someone Turan Box-to-Box
