We begin with a review of the previous round of results: West Ham 2-1 Manchester City was the shock of the round, with Liverpool 0-0 Hull City, and Tottenham 1-2 Newcastle close contenders. These results really threw our predictors for a loop. The easier results to predict were Sunderland 0-2 Arsenal, Burnley 1-3 Everton, and Manchester United 1-1 Chelsea. Of all our predictions, Rahim Kheir fared the best with three perfect predictions, and the highest score of the round! PSG 3-0 Bordeaux was a convincing win for the Parisians, and Seattle Sounders 2-0 LA Galaxy saw the Sounders hoist the Supporters Shield in a clash that went down to the wire. In the first edition of El Clasico this season, Real Madrid 3-1 Barcelona was quite a convincing result, and sees the gap narrow at the top of La Liga. We are a quarter of the way through the season and things are falling into place.
This week will see a famous rivalry coming to the fore, with Manchester City v Manchester United at the Etihad stadium. It should be a great fixture for the neutrals with City looking to bounce back from their shock defeat to West Ham United and Manchester United looking to show that they are title contenders after a last gasp draw with Chelsea. Newcastle v Liverpool will be a clash between a Toon outfit with back to back wins and a boost in confidence, against Liverpool who have been very rocky this so far. Chelsea v QPR is yet another London derby, with Mourinho’s men the favourites, although QPR come in off the back of a solid 2-0 win over Villa. QPR will feel they have nothing to lose in this fixture. Arsenal v Burnley should be an easy one to predict, however Arsenal have been defensively suspect in recent weeks and Burnley have Danny Ings back amongst the goals. Everton v Swansea will be a fixture that cannot be overlooked, as both teams are scoring plenty of goals and will likely continue that trend this weekend. Aston Villa v Tottenham rounds out the Premiership fixtures for the week, with both sides desperate to get over recent struggles.
Elsewhere in Europe, there’s Bayern Munich v Borussia Dortmund.. A Bayern side in clear domination of the Bundesliga takes on a struggling Dortmund that are highly unpredictable, admidst the Bayern hierarchy spouting off about their interest in Marco Reus at every available opportunity. In Italy, Napoli face AS Roma, and it is another fixture between two teams with something to prove that could very well have many goals in it. All in all, an exciting week of football ahead and lots of predictions to make.

Matchday 10 Predictions:
Games of the Week:
Bernie: Newcastle v Liverpool: Newcastle United Football Club! What a strange team this is. The Toon Army have gone from calling for Alan Pardew’s head to being flabbergasted by being unbeaten in their last six games. Liverpool are shaky and need front man Mario Balotelli to hit his stride. Why always him you ask? Because Mario makes it all about him. Brendan Rodgers also needs to make it all about him to get the best out of the mercurial talent. With better service to the Italian Liverpool could return to their form of last season. Newcastle will be at home in this one so with confidence sky high I expect a tight, edgy affair. 1-1 in what should be a thoroughly exciting game. 1-1 Draw.
Alexander: Napoli v AS Roma: While Roma have – for the most part – graced the skies this season, Napoli have been trudging through the mud. Despite last weekend’s much-needed 6-2 thrashing of Hellas Verona, The Little Donkeys (as they are known locally) find themselves 7th in the table, and struggling to maintain consistency. To show their discontent, Napoli ultras ambushed the team bus and smashed its windows after a recent 2-0 loss to Young Boys in the Europa League, so lord help Benitez’s men should they get a trashing this weekend. Roma meanwhile will want to build on their win against Cesena in midweek which saw them draw level on points with Juventus. This should be a cracking match, but I foresee Totti and his band of merry men walking away with victory. 3-1 Roma.
Mohaned: Bayern Munich vs Dortmund: A game expected to be a title decider is now relegated to a meeting of two teams at opposite ends of the spectrum. Bayern Munich are soaring high despite not being able to score last weekend, and Dortmund are languishing in 15th place, one point above the relegation zone and with only seve points from a possible 21! Unbelievable! Jurgen Klopp’s team could not pick a worse time to meet their rivals. Surely Bayern at home and on form should win this one, though if Dortmund find their European form, Bayern will have a game on their hands. I’m sure Dortmund will find it in them to step up for the big occasion, but surely Bayern cannot let this one slip. Convincing win for the Bavarians. 3-1 Bayern Munich.
Rishay: Manchester City v Manchester United: This fixture is a tough one to call. In recent seasons, it was easy to pick out Man City as the clear favourites, and although on paper they will still carry that tag in this one, it is not as simple. Man United are a resurgent side with fresh life injected into them. They faced league leaders Chelsea in their last match and accounted for themselves well. United will be feeling quietly confident going into this one and with Wayne Rooney potentially back in the side, you cannot write them off. City have Aguero on their side and this man is a true force. They will be looking to bounce back after their loss last week and still have the psychological edge coming into the game. It’s a tough one to call but I will go with the underdogs. 2-1 Manchester United.
