Brazil played thier host nation card to nick a result over the Croatians while Mexico and Cameroon fought hard to play through monsoon season in Natal. In Salvador, against Holland, the Spanish took their biggest drubbing since their defeat of the Armada.

A packed third day saw Colombia Greece their way wheels while Uruguay suffered the Costa defeat. Meanwhile in Manaus, a new look England played a lot like English Builders: Mostly on the break!
