EPL Top Ten Goals of the Season 2013 (VIDEO)

This season of the premier league has seen incredible goals, from team goals to long range rockets to goals of technical bliss. We compiled what we thought were the top 10 goals of this season.

Enjoy!

Making a list like this always brings about debate. Here at Under The Cosh we go with our guts a lot. In this case we highlighted 3 categories that we judge goals on. We ranked the goals according to these categories to produce our top 10. We’ve defined the 3 categories below. Hopefully you get a sense of our vision. If you don’t, let us know in the comments section.

Technique: So when we look at the word technique we are trying to see the quality of execution. Players practice their shooting technique over and over again until it becomes second nature to them. We aimed to reward goals that showed excellent  and almost scientifically precise technique.

Shock Value: Some goals have great technique but come with a sense of expectation. This makes them a little less exciting for the average football fan. Every great goal whether important or not needs to have a little bit of mystique and must force you out of your seat. That’s what shock value really is and we looked for the 10 goals that got us off our seats with excitement and stunned us into silence afterwards.

Intent: Did he mean it? This category caused a lot more debate between the 3 of us than the other two. Sometimes your technique might be spot on but if we don’t believe you meant it then we can’t put it on my list, simple.
